Jens Bauer

Principal Investigator

Jens Bauer is an assistant professor in mechanical engineering and an Emmy-Noether Research Group Leader at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) in Germany. He is leading the Nanoarchitected Metamaterials Laboratory at the Institute of Nanotechnology and is an associate principal investigator of the 3D Matter Made to Order Cluster of Excellence. Previously, he has been a staff scientist and a postdoctoral researcher at the University of California, Irvine (UCI), after he had completed his Ph.D. in mechanical engineering at KIT's Institute for Applied Materials.


Alina Sutygina

Postdoctoral Researcher

Alina holds a Ph.D. in engineering from the Otto-von-Guericke University, Magdeburg, and a M.Sc. in in condensed matter physics from Tomsk Polytechnic University. She joined the Nanoarchitects team in April 2023 to work on 3D-printed inorganic materials.

Jiajie Liang

Doctoral Researcher

Jiajie joined the Nanoarchitects team in November 2022. After obtaining a M.Sc. in materials science and engineering from KIT, he is since July 2023 conducting his doctoral research.

Emanuel Werth

Master Student

Emanuel is a master student in mechanical engineering at KIT and has joined the Nanoarchitects team in April 2023 to complete his master thesis.
